A transformative new wellness initiative is taking root in the heart of Maspalomas, led by internationally renowned fitness icon, actress, and Olympic torchbearer Lilly Rikhter.
We would like to invite all journalists, bloggers, vloggers, and influencers to cover this event in their publications and/or shows, and we will gladly provide you with any and all information you might need, including visuals and, of course, interviews with Lilly Rikhter herself.
WIP is a groundbreaking initiative that blends mindfulness, movement, and community spirit, offering free, inclusive outdoor sessions that include yoga, Pilates, stretching, meditation, and mindful walking.
Rooted in the belief that healing and connection happen best in nature, the project aims to tackle chronic stress, reduce obesity rates, and promote long-term healthy habits.
‘This is more than fitness,’ says Rikhter. ‘This is about creating a space for healing, belonging, and transformation.’
WIP has already seen participation from over 2,000 individuals, and thanks to its accessibility and focus on both physical and mental health, it's gaining traction among local residents and international supporters alike.
With Maspalomas facing some of the highest childhood obesity rates in Europe, WIP aligns directly with local health and wellness goals.
Key features of the WIP initiative include:
· Weekly wellness sessions at Parque del Sur
· Monthly mindfulness workshops
· A multilingual digital platform and app with on-demand content, session registration, habit tracking, and gamification
· Educational outreach in local schools
· Special events and wellness days to foster community engagement.

The initiative is currently in advanced talks with local authorities, with WIP playing a central role in proposed strategies for health-focused urban planning and wellness tourism.
By expanding its digital platform and activities across multiple parks, WIP plans to scale its impact throughout 2025.
Scientific research supports WIP’s vision: Studies show that mindfulness can reduce cortisol levels by up to 20%, and gentle physical activity boosts immune function, reducing illness risk by 40%. Practicing together in green spaces compounds these benefits while fostering a resilient and compassionate community. Thanks to Lilly Rikhter’s international profile and her ability to communicate in Spanish, English, and Russian, WIP is gaining attention not just in Spain, but across Europe and beyond. The project invites local collaborators, international wellness brands, and public institutions to join in growing a healthier future.
